Busy Week
Next week, I have a rather different week planned: Tuesday, I might have my evaluation, if my AP does not have to have back surgery. Please pray for her. She is in a great amount of pain and in real need of this surgery. Wednesday, I will help 4th grade writing teachers with a writing camp to assist the 4th graders in getting ready for the TAKS writing test. Thursday, we will have Math family night and I will help out in the Make and Take area. This is a fun night because the families get to do a rotation tru several activities and as a family learn about math and how to assist their children. Each person gets a ticket and during the night, numbers are selected and wonderful gifts given. Friday will be a travel day for me as I join Jay in Toronto, Ca. It will be freezing, (High of 30F with low of 18F while I'm there. Jay will get to experience 9F.) but we plan on doing as much sight seeing as possible. We hope to get to Niagara Falls. Brrrrrrrr!

Strength and Peace
I was responding to one of God's Faithfulness Through Infertility's posts and thought it would be worth reprinting here.
One of the beautiful visuals God gave me, was when U. Jay and I were in Italy. We went to a castle and were walking the wall around it. A strong storm came up while Jay and I were walking between two towers. We had to walk bent over so that the wall would protect us and then when we got into the tower, it was absolutely calm, still, no movement, no wavering, just absolute strength. WOW, and to think that when I am in the storm, I can stand on the Rock of my Salvation who does not and is not moved. There is total strength and complete peace.
May you experience that strength and peace is my prayer.

This and that
This has been a busy week with our school Science fair last night (Thursday). My students and I had a great time working on our Scientific problem. Thursday, we had the judging and then parents could come by and see the work done by our students. It was really great! And !!!!!!!!!! We got 2nd place! The students were elated.
That: it is interesting to see how God has been working in the lives of my friends and family. I pray that our hearts will be open and ready for those things He has in store to teach each one of us.

Infertility
About 25 years ago, Jay and I started experiencing infertility issues. As the years came and went, we dealt with the issue sometimes intently, others not so much. In my mid 30's, we became more aggressive. I had several surgical procedures, took clomid and other fertility drugs. Our insurance Co would not pay for invitro, so we did all we could up to invitro. As I have watched and prayed for Elaine and Dave, the emotions of those years have come back to the forefront of my mind. I am so thankful that the medical profession has made such great strides in the treatment of infertility. I am grateful that Elaine and Dave have these available to them. Praise the Lord they are ahead of the game in age, in treatment, in excising the endometriosis, in their confidence in their Dr. and especially in their complete trust in the Lord.
I continue to pray and trust God to bring about the birth of baby Sheldon. Thank you Lord.

A life cut short
A friend, Christopher, from church, died last Thursday afternoon. He was only 54 years old. He leaves a wife and 3 children, 25, 23 and 17. We met before he and his wife had their youngest child. Their son was a friend of our exchange student, Felipe and frequented our home during that time.
Like his wife and I shared today during visitation, we cry and morn for ourselves. He is with the Lord and she said he was singing in Heaven. Sunday before last, he was one of the deacons taking up the offering. This Sunday we were morning his death.
This was a very sobering death since it was not expected at all. He, like my Dad, had an aneurysm. His was in the brain. Jay was at the hospital on Tuesday when the neurosurgeon came out to speak to his wife. The surgeon said that the surgery was successful, but he was concerned about other issues that were not in his expertise. Our friend ended up dying from complications with his kidneys.
Good bye dear friend. You will be missed. We are certain that we will meet again! Of that we are assured. Thank you God!

The New Year
We are 5 days into the New Year and I am confident that God will accomplish much thru and for us this year. There are many dreams that we pray will come to fruition in God's timing. There are goals that we pray will be achieved as God wishes. There are relationships to develop and maintain in God's love.
May your 2009 be the best yet! God bless each and every one.
